I cant sleep so I decided to post instead. I have been thinking about the new world and what can be done to elliminate the bugs that seem embedded in the game we have at the moment. The game as it stands was originally designed ten years ago (maybe even older) the coding the graphics are ten years old it tries its best to run on so many computer chips so many different systems pentium 3 is the base level. Why not bite the bullet and write the new world in the latest formats, we know you have problems with vista and then vista is due or already is getting superceeded by windows 7 and probably windows 8 by the time any maps appear. Graphics cards are ten times better today than ten years ago if u even used a graphic card back then. What I am saying is we cant be stuck in the past forever. I am no computer nerd I dont know anything wise about programming but to keep churning out pentium 3 level stuff seems crazy to me. Surely the latest techniques in coding the faster processing and probably the ease and speed of compiling new stuff would more than compensate for just copying over the old systems that dont even work on new computers ie vista. Lets leave rose1 as it is and move forward to new worlds with a better system of programming. Our computers dont live forever and more and more of us have got to replace our old hardware as time passes what happens if we cant use rose because our systems got too smart and rose plods on like an old man. I hope also that by dumping the old code u also dump many of the bugs that frustrate us all. I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on this . We might as a community steal a march on rival games by doing this and if you wish to keep your old steam powered computer( while it lasts) there would still be rose1. Its not just about new content its about going forward with systems that can keep us happy for many years. Finally please think about it cal and whoever else calls the shots this game needs leadership to get better and lets face it rose is about as good as its going to get without new tech.
